  • Introduction of the 89RB New Adventurer Truck Camper Floorplan.

Adventurer is a leading edge manufacturer that has been building truck campers since 1969. We moved our production facility from Abbotsford, BC Canada to Yakima, WA USA in 2008 and our focus has been on building the lightest, best built and best valued truck camper in the industry with many innovative weight reducing techniques and floor plans that many manufacturers simply don’t have, like our 950B (Bunkhouse camper), 80GS ½ ton capable 8’ truck camper with a bath, shower and a galley slide-out and only weighing 1506lbs, to last year’s sensation 86FB which provided an 8’6” non-slide truck camper with large holding tanks, large wet bath, face to face dinette, generator option and yes it fit short or long bed trucks and many customers asked where is the slide because of the room it had.

This year for 2013 Adventurer has built another industry leader taking many of the features from its sister 86FB and supersized it…

Introducing the Adventurer New 89RB truck camper from Adventurer…  an 8’ 9” floor length and yes it fits short or long bed trucks. We added a larger bathroom, more storage in the heated basement, outside service center including all of your hook-ups and outside shower behind a locked insulated door. All this built 4-season ready with closed cell block foam insulation and with optional argon gas filled thermal pane windows this unit is ready for the extreme cold or extensive heat. The 89RB comes in at a scant 2389lbs base dry weight easily fitting on all of your ¾ ton trucks and a couple of the newer ½ ton trucks. We have also included 100% interior and exterior LED lights for longer camping battery life and brighter lighting, when you include the Adventurer exclusives of TCC (True Composite Construction)with our industry leading 3-year structural warranty, “Comfort Step Bumper” with easy folding 2 step system and the lowest price in the industry make Adventurer a must see truck camper for consumers and dealers alike. • Quality manufacturer since 1969

Adventurer is a leading edge manufacturer that has been building quality RV’s since 1969. We moved our production facility from Abbotsford, BC Canada to Yakima, WA USA in 2008 where we bought the old Alpenlite production facility here in Yakima. We were able to immediately offer an 11% to 15% price reduction in our products offered, quickly moving ALP into the value leader in quality manufacturing.

ALP builds truck camper under the Adventurer and Eagle Cap brands along with Class C units for a large rental dealer making ALP a strong and healthy manufacturer.
Our focus has been on building the lightest, best built and best valued truck campers in the industry with our Adventurer line. After purchasing the assets of Eagle Cap truck camper in 2010 our goal was to continue the Eagle Cap tradition of the “Built Like None Other” Eagle Cap exclusive “Hybrid Aluminum Fiberglass Super Structure” and keep it true to its followers since it already had a strong customer following. ALP started production at our Yakima facility in Feb 2011 giving the Eagle Cap its own dedicated line and its own exclusive employees to build it to continue its tradition and now with a healthy manufacturer the line will be around for years to come!

ALP has been experiencing double digit growth and is projecting record sales again for 2013 in both truck camper lines and in rental motorhomes.
ALP has some very exciting plans for new growth in the future and welcomes all inquiries from dealers looking to expand their lines, truck campers are a strong profit point for dealers now and worth another look as a dealer principle… it’s not grandpa’s truck camper anymore.

  • Winnebago Industries earns Ford Quality Program approval

Winnebago Industries Inc. has again received Ford Motor Co.’s “fully meets” classification as part of its “Truck Quality Program.”

The “Truck Quality Program” is the highest honor awarded to vehicle modifiers, and is based on an assessment of a modifier’s engineering capability, design and build process controls, management commitment and quality control procedures.
Ford said the purpose of the program is to assure vehicle modifiers have the capability and processes in place to “complete the vehicle in a repeatable manner that maintains the integrity of the Ford chassis system, meets federal and other standards in place at the time of the build, and provides end users with a quality built vehicle that meets their expectations.”
Winnebago Industries has received Ford’s “fully meets” classification every year since the program’s inception in 1997.
“Once again, Winnebago Industries is proud to earn the fully meets classification from Ford’s ‘Truck Quality Program,’” said Winnebago Director of Quality Control Chuck Hughes. “Our top priority is to manufacture the highest quality motorhomes on the market – and it all starts with the chassis. Meeting the stringent requirements by Ford to earn this classification shows that we are maintaining the integrity of the chassis while at the same time building the superior products our customers want.
“We hold Ford’s ‘Truck Quality Program’ in high regard and we will continue to strive to meet their expectations, as well as those of our customers.”
  • The RV Lifestyle – On a Budget

Grandma should make wiser decisions when traveling…

    How do I know this?

Well, for starters if she had been in the safety of an RV, she wouldn’t have gotten run over by one of Santa’s pesky reindeers!

As we continue to roll through this holiday season, many RV enthusiasts are already taking the right steps to achieving safe passage through the season by looking at new ways to budget for the RV lifestyle.

Throughout my time working in the RV business, the question of how to better budget one’s money for the RV lifestyle has been a constant from potential customers, peers and more. For many travelers, it’s a tough question. After all, how does one find time to budget for the RV lifestyle?

Well thankfully, there is a remedy for you RV budgeting woes and it involves following a few simple money-saving tips.

    Quit Eating Out So Much!

Let’s face it. Odds are if you’re a traveler then you definitely enjoy trying new restaurants when you’re out on adventures.  With that said, if you’re planning to create a more budget friendly RV lifestyle, you may want to consider backing off the convenience of eating out in order to save some more of those hard-earned nickels and dimes.

According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistic 2011 Consumer Expenditure Report, the average American household spends $2,620 per year dining out. That’s a pretty decent chunk of change folks!
Here’s the thing, you’re RV has a kitchen in it so use it! Most come with everything you need to make a top-notch meal for you and your family.
Think about it. Not only will you be able to save more money because you’re eating out less, but you’ll also be able to come up with some handy recipes just in time for your first trip in your new toy.

There’s No Place Like Home… I Mean Your RV

Sure, there’s nothing better than getting comfortable at a little hotel when out on the open road, but why not take advantage of well, owning that RV!

Sometimes finding a place to pull over for the night can be a daunting task. Taking advantage of travel-based member groups like AAA or RV parks like KOA can help you save a ton of money.
Also, there are a number of state and national parks in the country which offer overnight parking for RVs. Not only are these a great way to save some extra money when out on the road, but they also offer easy access to some of the country’s most breathtaking scenery.
Would you rather wake up looking out of a 15thstory hotel window in some big city or wake up to the sun setting over the Rocky Mountains (which is also far less as expensive)?

It’s Time To Talk About the Giant White Elephant in the RV…GASOLINE!

Ok, so obviously one of the most difficult parts of budgeting for the RV lifestyle is the cost of fuel.

One of the first and easiest to start saving on fuel is by taking advantage of the right types of vehicles. Ever considered towing a smaller car or even a motorcycle trailer with you on your adventure? What better way to shave a few dollars off the travel budget than having the ability to park it and forget it while still being able to travel around.
Even better, have you ever considered parking your RV and jumping on a bicycle to get around, at least when it comes to the immediate area? Who wouldn’t want to save some money and get a little healthy exercise in at the same time?

    The Wrap Up

Perhaps the most challenging part for any traveler when it comes to budgeting for the RV lifestyle is coming to the realization that in order to save money, it actually requires them to adapt to new habits. For many of us, we’re so set in our existing traveling ideals we’ve become unwilling to change.

But, if you want to save money, then it’s time to acknowledge the luxuries you can survive without! The small things add up – so start working on that budget and Happy Holidays!
