The Oakland Athletics might be moving to Las Vegas, but right now their Spring Training home is Mesa, Arizona and Hohokam Stadium. The facility might be older but it’s undergone excellent renovations with 10,500 seats, a large LED video board, and improved concession stands. 

• RV Accommodations: Aside from RV access at the ballpark, Mesa has RV sites with hookups for longer stays. Explore the natural scenery, get out in nature, and tailgate with baseball fans prior to the games.
• RV Parking: Hohokam has parking for oversized vehicles and RVs for a small fee when attending Spring Training, with easy access to the stadium.
• Nearby Attractions: With museums, art centers, dining, nightlife, recreation, off-roading, and parks, Mesa is an eclectic mix of outdoorsy and adventurous. Cheer on your teams, then take a hike, or relax outside while it’s warm out.
• Venue Quality: Hohokam Stadium has comfortable seating and green space in the outfield, plenty of choices with vendors for concessions, merch, and sprawling views to get some sun while you watch the game. Just watch out for those foul balls.

4. Camelback Ranch – Glendale, Arizona

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox are the home teams at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, which is part of the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area, so you can expect plenty to do. With 13,000 seats, including 3,000 on the lawn, and updated facilities, it’s one more top pick.

• RV Accommodations: There’s no shortage of RV campgrounds and resorts near Glendale and Phoenix. Just plan your stay well in advance to grab a campsite closer to the field when it’s game time.
• RV Parking: You should find RV parking at the ballpark, but as always, check ahead of the game to see what’s available for fans and what’s permitted when it comes to tailgating.
• Nearby Attractions: Check out the Westgate Entertainment District for dining, shopping, and entertainment. Or take a trip to Thunderbird Conservation Park for a hike outdoors.
• Venue Quality: It’s hot and sunny in Arizona, but you can still enjoy the game under the shaded awning. Camelback Ranch has a few more nice touches that make it stand out, like an orange grove, rock retaining walls, a bandstand, and luxury box seating.

Spring Training Ballparks You Might Want To Skip

While every ballpark has something unique to offer, we have a few you might want to avoid or take extra time to plan based on limited accessibility for RVs. Whether it’s limited parking, or lack of RV infrastructure, be careful when booking your trip.

1. LECOM Park (McKechnie Field) – Bradenton, Florida

Formerly known as McKechnie Field, LECOM Park is the host of Pittsburgh Pirates Spring Training games. The park is over a century old, which explains why it might not be the most accommodating facility for RV travel.

• RV Accommodations: While the ballpark is older and has undergone renovations, expect there to be limited RV spaces and lack of hookups. While you’ll find RV parks and rentals so you could experience Pirates games, you might want to leave the vehicle at the campground and find another means of transportation.
• RV Parking: There’s limited dedicated RV parking may require early arrival for a suitable spot depending on the size of your vehicle, especially larger RVs. Check with personnel ahead of the game to see where you can find a space.
• Nearby Attractions: Despite the lack of RV infrastructure, you can still enjoy the great outdoors near Bradenton. Explore Everglades National Park, go hiking, plan a beach trip, kayak, or boat when it’s not game day.
• Venue Quality: You could say LECOM Park/McKechnie Field is a historic venue with a classic feel, including a Spanish mission-style facade. The park keeps going through renovations, and is considerably smaller than some other Spring Training stadiums, with room for 7,500 (and 9,000 when it comes to standing). 

2. Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium – Jupiter, Florida

The Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals share their Spring Training home in Jupiter at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. While it’s considered a state-of-the-art facility for these teams, it is a smaller venue in terms of seating and accommodation for RVs. 

• RV Accommodations: There are campgrounds near Roger Dean, so you can find some RV accommodations. Plan and book ahead though, as spaces might be limited for longer stays, especially considering that five major league teams host games within the vicinity of Jupiter for Spring Training outings. 
• RV Parking: Check with the facility’s personnel on parking, as paid lots might be found near the stadium. You might be better off leaving the RV at the campsite.
• Nearby Attractions: Jupiter has plenty of pristine beaches, parks, and wildlife sanctuaries not far of a drive from Roger Dean.
• Venue Quality: While it’s smaller, the stadium does offer luxury seating, plenty of outdoor seating, an outdoor covered area to cool off, and new eating and drinking vendors. Since you’re not far from other Spring Training destinations, you could compare how Roger Dean stacks up to the other venues.

3. Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium – Lakeland, Florida

While it’s a historic field that’s hosted Detroit Tigers Spring Training games since 1946, it is a considerably older stadium that’s recently undergone a couple of much-needed renovations to modernize. Along with a smaller seating capacity compared to other ballparks and a simple outfield layout, you might find less nearby attractions between games.

• RV Accommodations: There are several options for RV parks for camping around Lakeland, but with a smaller and older facility with less seating capacity, it might be more difficult to bring your rig to the game.
• RV Parking: Check the park’s policies for parking based on the size or class of your vehicle for Tigers games this spring. 
• Nearby Attractions: Dining, theaters, parks, and an animal reserve can all be found around Lakeland, but RVers might discover more to do outside of town for recreation and entertainment.
• Venue Quality: It’s old, so it has its history, but Joker Marchant might lack more modern amenities compared to other Spring Training ballfields.
